Strategic partnership crucial to downstream sector growth – NNPC’s Ojulari
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, has maintained its resolve to ensure consistent fuel availability, competitive pricing, and uncompromising product quality across the country.
The NNPC explained that strategic partnerships in the downstream petroleum sector are essential to unlocking value, driving sustainability, and enhancing commercialisation.
Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC, Bayo Ojulari, stated this on Tuesday at the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week, organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).
He described Nigeria’s downstream sector as one shaped by transition, opportunity, and strategic reform, noting that cooperation among industry stakeholders remains the key to a sustainable energy future.
With Africa’s energy demand projected to grow significantly in future, Ojulari called for coordinated efforts and collective responsibility to ensure Nigeria is positioned at the forefront for opportunities and inclusive growth.
“The opportunity to create a sustainable economy for today and the future lies in supply partnerships, infrastructure co-investments, security alliances, host community cooperation, and operational collaboration. Everyone must play a role in building a promising energy future for Nigeria,” Ojulari said in a statement issued by Andy Odeh, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer at the NNPC.
At the event, themed “Celebrating Our Successes, Confronting Our Challenges, and Finding Solutions for the Petroleum Downstream Sector,” Ojulari hailed the National Assembly and the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for organising the inaugural Downstream Petroleum Week.
The event brought together industry players, legislators, and stakeholders to discuss sector reforms and opportunities.
