UCL: Real Madrid suffer major injury blow ahead of Benfica second leg

Real Madrid are very likely to play without Kylian Mbappe when they take on Benfica in the second leg of their Champions League play-off on Wednesday night.

According to Goal, Mbappe picked up a knee problem during Tuesday’s training.

The Frenchman was forced to leave the session after complaining repeatedly about pain in his left leg.

Tests later revealed that the 27-year-old will not be fit to face Jose Mourinho’s men.

This represents a big blow for Alvaro Arbeloa, despite Madrid leading 1-0 from the first leg.

It remains unclear how long Mbappe will be out of action for.
