Governor Otti’s Second term receives boost as Aba Union backs his reelection
The second term bid of Governor Alex Otti has received a major boost as members of Aba Union, the Apex socio-cultural leadership body of the 9 Local Government Areas of the Old Aba Division have vowed to support his reelection come 2027.
Pronouncing the decision during a meeting at the Aba residence of an elder statesman and the first Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Abia State, Chief Theo Nkire at a private meeting with the Governor Alex Chioma Otti, the host, Chief Theo Nkire and the President of Aba Union, HRM. Eze Love Nwogu said that they are proud of what the governor who is their son has achieved so far, declaring that he has performed beyond their imagination.
While confessing that they did not support him during the 2023 elections, they pointed out that having seen his works, they have resolved as a people, group and bloc to stand solidly with him, saying that his achievements within two years have surpassed the 24 years before him.
They made it clear that the Governor has endeared himself to the entire Ukwa la Ngwa nation, through massive Road projects in Aba and in the state, especially Port-Harcourt Road, the Nsulu Airport , Medical Village in Owerrinta and the AIIP in Owaza.
In their speeches, the Senator representing Abia South senatorial zone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Speaker Abia House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, while acknowledging the giant strides of Governor Otti in two years as Governor, affirmed him as their consensus candidate in the 2027 Governorship elections.
Addressing members of the Aba Union, Governor Otti thanked them for identifying with his government.
Governor Otti who told them that his administration is reconstructing the Ohanku road using quality rigid pavement technology that will last up to 50 years added that Obohia road is also undergoing similar solid reconstruction and announced that the reconstruction of Uratta and Old Express roads will soon commence.
The Governor warned against any act of political irresponsibility from any quarter capable of threatening the prevailing peace and security across the State.
He used the forum to further inform them that the country home of one the foremost leaders from Ngwaland, Late Chief Jaja Nwachukwu is undergoing serious renovation and retroffiting, adding that he will put together a posthumous birthday for the fallen hero on the 1st of January 2026.
